How Big Tech and ad-tech track you online, and what you can do about that

March 30 @ 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM EDT

When: Wednesday 03/30 3PM EDT
access code is: privacytrust
Join us on Wednesday 3/30 to learn how the industry tracks you online so they can profile and predict your digital life. We’ll tell you about:
– Methods used by websites and apps to identify you
– Fingerprints of browsers and devices, and how you can see yours
– Ideas for concealing your identity on the internet
– Tools you can use to to that
We’ll also show a short video of standard (Chrome, Firefox) and privacy-friendly (Brave) browsers being tested against a fingerprinting web site.
Prerequisites:
– A BBB-compatible browser (for best results, run it on a computer with enough screen space)
– Another standard browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, Safari) on any gadget (try it with a separate internet connection if you can)
– A privacy-friendly browser (Brave, Waterfox, DuckDuckGo) on one of the above devices. You can download Brave at <https://brave.com>.
If you want to share your screen, you’ll have to run BBB and the other browser on the same computer.
