February 16 @ 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST

Free
Wednesday 2/16, we’ll be showing a live demo of what your browser might be doing behind the scenes when you start and use it. We’ll use diagnostic tools to monitor network connections of standard browsers (Chromium, Firefox) and privacy-enhanced ones (Brave, Waterfox). Then we’ll browse web sites representing a corporation, the government, an NGO, a popular internet platform, and a cooperative, and find out where they might be leaking your information. Finally, we’ll show how you can use an HTTP proxy to log and filter unwanted connections as you surf the internet.
