The Black Power Mixtape 1967–1975

This is a powerful movie that documents a story that is left out of most text books in schools, or distorted into a divisive tale of violence. I enjoyed the intimate footage of several leaders of the 60’s revolution. Having been a high school student at the time, I believe the film portrayed some of the most relevant participants as strong leaders that were betrayed by the Gov, the CIA and many organizations that masquerade as being helpful. The Swedish film company also highlighted the awkward tourist attraction that poverty can become. This is an important film for anyone that wants to understand America today, yesterday and perhaps not tomorrow.
